Adelphi Student Life

Community Service

Local missions projects at places such as Habitat for Humanity, ACTS, or Christ Central in the Aiken community provide an opportunity for Aiken to get to know Adelphi students, and for us to make an positive impact in our community.

Seasonal missions projects have included serving at the Aiken's community Thanksgiving feast, One Table,  traveling to Charlotte to assist the Samaritan's Purse distribution center to ship Christmas gift shoeboxes internationally, or even traveling on short-term missions trips with faculty.

Alpha Service

Adelphi Christian encourages service beyond self. Our Alpha Service program is intended to engage the student body in direct service to the school community, church community and community.

We do this by engaging our students in service projects in order to create a desire to live a life of service beyond high school.

Each student at Adelphi is required to participate in the Alpha Service program by volunteering. High school students complete 30 hours of volunteer service while Middle school students complete 24 service hours.

All students are recognized for completion of their hours at the end of the school year, with a special award presented to the top honorees.

2009-2010 top recipients served over 110 hours each for both high school and middle school students!

Middle School Societies

Middle school Societies is a middle school club for all middle schoolers. Meeting weekly, the students participate in team building, games, student mentoring, service projects, academics, and group related activities.

Students work together as a team to accumulate points toward an end of year award. Societies help students develop a sense of belonging, enthusiasm, pride and accomplishment.

Bonnie Deveney is the faculty Middle School Director, but many teachers participate in the team building activites.

Advisor/Advisee

Students meet weekly with a staff  "advisor" in groups of 6-8 to discuss personal and spiritual growth. This is a time where students have the opportunity to encourage one another. Advisors also get the opportunity to support and advocate for each student.

Chapel

Part of the discipleship process involves participating in worship and learning from others.  Speakers from both within the school community and from the Christian community at large are invited to challenge our students to grow spiritually.  Throughout the year, students are also given the opportunity to share their gifts during chapel.

Chapels are held Friday mornings, 8:10- 8:55 am. Families and neighbors are invited and encouraged to attend.
